We hosted an open house like this a few years ago when we were in our house in town. Both parties were great, in that we had many friends come. This last party though was in this home, this home that we remember every day is a gift, built by God.
Keith and I discussed the pure joy of having our friends come and share their time with us. Yesterday Leslie Neilson died. Dad loved his later movies the Airplanes 2 1/2 guns etc. Dad's sense of humor 'went that way'. About a week before Dad died one of the Airplanes was playing, he and I sat and watched it, he in his wheelchair and I beside him. The next day he came home early with a really bad stomach ache, and his back hurt too. I told him I had hurt my back once and it made my stomach hurt too, so maybe that was it. I put him to bed with a heating pad. He slept most of the day. I had painted their rooms in their previous house. And with their next move, I was asked to do again. What an honor!
This is Sammies room. We still are hoping for a real honest to goodness swing to hand from the tree.

I just found that my 'email blog' button does not just tell my limited 10 that I have posted on my blog. It sends the blog to them as an email. The previous post MY RANT... .I sent it to a few of my friends and family, in an email, thinking it would be an interesting read. That's all. Letting my opinion known , which I do not expect anyone to agree nor disagree with, is my mistake. Someone near and dear has opinionated that mine is not necessary to share. I have been thinking on this Anti Halloween Crusade of many believers and have a few thoughts in addition to the added article. Dr Dickson is probably more of an authority since he IS a DR. but I still have an opinion, uneducated as it is. I am getting excited, finally! I am the type that can't think on things too long, anticipation is not my thing. So being busy with everything else has been GREAT for this trip. Still working on it, bits and pieces still need to be done but it is fabulous.Having Lee Meg and Tanah and Ty with us is even more fabulous. SOOOOO much has happened! I hope to have a video/slide show added to this thing through photobucket-- I am attempting to make it a beginning to present show-- So it may contain too much mega-whatevers, we will see... Until the export to the desktop and then the upload to the bucket, I will fill you in on what I can remember happened with Pettyville in Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5929260040579849586.post-64327300150669130712009-04-20T21:21:00.000-07:002010-02-28T21:54:09.950-08:00Things are Happenin...Guess what we did? NO! Not THAT!WE Painted the house all inside. We got us a sprayer and sprayed away-- Keith mostly-- he is not confident in my spraying abilities. But it really does not matter how much you cover, your eyes get it -- We tried goggles but they covered in paint in about 1 minute-- thus the raccoon look. My boogers did get a bit colored, I kept forgetting my mask. It turned out to be a much 'bigger' deal than we had thought it was. A great program! Within the school Evan already attends is the opportunity to take this class. It is offered and taught by the San Antonio Food bank. A little trimming out and cutting edges and it is. What a process! Between the wind and the running out of materials it was a timely procedure. When we finally got the sponge tape in, to finish the 1/4 of the roof we had DAYS of wind. Then when it was perfect we were not able to wrangle enough people back up to help. Two just cannot do it. Though on Sunday Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5929260040579849586.post-74283715790437457992009-02-10T08:47:00.000-08:002010-07-21T13:41:24.659-07:00Another has gone home.Keith's dad Gerald has died. Gerald has been passively ill for a few years. Just a few months ago the decision was made that he move to a nursing home, it was a difficult decision. Gerald physically was declining, mentally declined. The hopes and desires of course were different, the truth was it was not healthy nor safe for Mary Lou or Gerald, for him to stay home with her. Still. The metal came in. Pretty and silver. The shortest piece it 3' the longest is 29" approximately 18" wide. The order of build is to do the back porch then the back main roof- front porch and front of main roof. Brian and Keith began the back porch. The lining up of the first piece and the next few was most tedious. Actually the we consisted of Keith all the time and Brian with about 3/4 of it and then Keith had to settle for me for the last 1/4. We started laying it on a Saturday Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5929260040579849586.post-40303323695532212062009-01-05T13:55:00.000-08:002010-07-21T13:39:48.895-07:00STILL building a houseOkay my house is not finished. I was most sure that 6 months would be plenty of time to build a house. Or at least be MUCH further along than we are. We really have been 'doin sumthin' the whole time. But obviously NOT ENOUGH. We (Keith and some of his guys from work) started the electric this last weekend. That to did not complete in one day-- It should in another. Our Christmas was a completely new experience for us! A multitude of 1st. 1st Christmas to not have to put up a Christmas tree: One would not fit in our lovely abode.
